The Rohevik green growth forum will be looking to the future this October – one that will be built on a sustainable and environmentally friendly way of life.

Rohevik was launched in 2011 by the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Estonia. While last year’s inaugural festival comprised conferences in Tallinn and Tartu and a family day with electric car test drives on Freedom Square in Tallinn, this year it will take the form of an international forum. The word ‘forum’ comes from Latin, in which it described a city square where the people of the city would gather. It was the political and business heart of the city, and was the location of the court. In this sense it is the perfect term to use for this year’s Rohevik festival, since the event will bring together politicians, business operators and experts to discuss how a sustainable way of life can be achieved in the Baltic Sea region.

Rohevik 2012 will include the following events:

  • 18-19 October: Nordic/Baltic conference ‘Policy Challenges on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency’ in the conference hall of the Riigikogu in Tallinn
  • 25 October: International conference ‘Smart Energy Solutions’ at the Estonian University of Life Sciences in Tartu
  • 26 October: Visits to energy sites and companies in Tartu County

The Rohevik conference in Tartu will also mark the 20th anniversary of Tartu Science Park.

See you at Rohevik green growth forum!
